Key concepts I've learned: aesthetics, faces, lines, color vs. luminescence and the evolution of art becoming art history
2.Which philosopher's theory on aesthetics do you feel is most important? Be sure to mention the philosophers name, era (time in history), and contribution to the aesthetic theory in your response.
In my opinion, I think that Plato's theory is the most important due to the fact that he stated during his lifespan of the 4th century that art can be considered a form of reality. I do agree with this because sometimes a piece of artwork can be seen as realistic to some, while non-reality to others. For the artist that created the piece, they try and create reality from there piece of work.
I think that both Changeux and Ramachandran scientific views of aesthetics and art are very well explained. For Changeux, what I found to be the most interesting thing in his lecture is how the brain is effected in size by exposure to art. For Ramachandran, what I found to be the most interesting thing in his lecture is his explanation of the eight laws of art; I had no idea that art can have laws.
